Every home is a new workplace. Take two minutes at the door to spot the hazards before you unpack a single bottle.
- Check for pets, children, trailing cables, loose rugs and wet floors

- Bend the knees, keep the load close to your body, never twist while lifting
- Push heavy furniture, do not pull — and ask for help with anything awkward
- Swap hands and change tasks regularly to avoid repetitive strain

Water and electricity are the two everyday risks on a clean. Slips are the most common reported injury.
- Check vacuum cables for damage before plugging in; never use a taped cable
- Never spray liquid directly onto sockets, switches or appliances
- Put out a wet-floor warning and dry as you go
- Wear flat, closed, non-slip shoes on every job

- Skin splash: remove contaminated clothing, rinse, do not scrub
